HA series: 50 to 500 kN

Standard versions of the HA load frame in the 50 to 500 kN range have the testing actuator mounted in the lower crosshead, below the test area. They are ideal for test arrangements which require temperature chambers or furnaces to be installed in the test area. The positioning of the actuator prevents heated air rising and causing heating of the actuator; it also prevents oil dripping into the heated test area.

Among the tests which can be performed using HA load frames is low-cycle fatigue (LCF).

LCF and HCF tests

Materials and components may fail prematurely under dynamic loading. The behavior of materials under alternating mechanical loading is therefore an important decision criterion, for which the necessary data are obtained through tests.

Materials testing divides fatigue into two categories:

low-cycle fatigue (LCF)
high-cycle fatigue (HCF) (fatigue life and fatigue limit)

Technical overview

The test frame features extremely high stiffness and natural resonance; high-accuracy alignment avoids unwanted flexural stresses in the specimen.

Description

HA servo-hydraulic testing machines are available in various versions for test loads from 50 kN to 500 kN.
Standard testing-actuator stroke is 100 or 250 mm.
Can be supplied for 210 or 280 bar system-pressure.
Load cell attached to upper crosshead as standard.
Adjustable upper crosshead, with optional hydraulic crosshead clamping and lift cylinders.
