To ensure adequate rigidity so that safety in operating mode would not be compromised by this mechanical flexibility, comprehensive simulation calculations were performed during product development. Following completion of the simulations, potential "critical points" in the frame design were identified. To enable final conclusions to be drawn concerning eventual load capacity, Ujet decided to make use of ZwickRoell's testing laboratory. The aim was to determine the maximum load capacity of the frame through tensile and compression tests on the relevant parts.
For this ZwickRoell constructed a special test device to enable the scooter frame to be loaded in line with specifications. Test results showed that the simulation values had been significantly exceeded and the frame would comfortably withstand the maximum possible loadings.
