Tensile tests on heavy plates are mainly performed according to ISO 6892-1 and ASTM E8, which are internationally recognized and widespread standards. ISO 6892-1 is also a European standard (EN ISO 6892-1) that is identically worded, and thus applicable in the European Union (e.g. DIN EN ISO 6892-1 in Germany). Tensile specimens for this type of tensile test are removed from heavy plate in such a way that the sheet thickness is retained as specimen thickness to the greatest degree possible. The tensile specimens have a correspondingly large cross-section and require materials testing machines with a high load range or heavy load range.
Tensile tests on concrete-reinforcing steel are performed according to the international standard ISO 15630-1. There are also numerous local standards around the world that the testing machine meets. The Z3000H features a large area of application: In addition to extremely large forces and diameters, very small forces of 12 kN and above can also be measured in Class 1 to ISO 7500-1. The H-series hydraulic materials testing machines are ideally suited for high-capacity tensile tests. They have a central hydraulic drive (differential actuator) and are available in versions 600 to 5000 kN (60 - 500 t). Due to the high-resolution and channel-synchronized measurement technology, the material characteristics are determined precisely and accurately. Range switching is not necessary since load signal resolution is available over the entire range. The large measurement range also allows low test loads to be determined precisely, with no need to re-equip the testing machine.
ZwickRoell follows the philosophy of “Everything from a single source” and therefore is able to offer its customers testing systems perfectly matched to their applications. The testing solution for Asian customers includes parallel-closing hydraulic grips as well as a makroXtens extensometer, both made by ZwickRoell.
