ZwickRoell opens factory in China

In Autumn 2014 ZwickRoell opened its new factory in Taicang, China, some 50 km north-west of Shanghai. Here, on a site totaling around 2,000 m², testing machines and instruments will be developed and assembled for the Chinese and world markets. One of the first products is a drop-weight tester for puncture tests on plastics. Provisional capital expenditure is 4 million euros.

"The factory in Taicang will allow us to react more quickly in adapting to individual requirements. The ZwickRoell name will also be joined in China by another long-established brand. All products from Taicang will bear the name 'Amsler', continuing on an international stage a successful 160-year tradition of innovation," revealed Christine Dübler, Director of Sales at ZwickRoell.

As well as its Taicang site, the ZwickRoell Group has five European plants with over 1,200 employees engaged in producing testing systems for more than 20 different industries.
