ZHVµ Micro Vickers hardness tester

The ZHVµ Micro Vickers hardness tester covers Vickers and Knoop hardness tests to ISO 6507, ISO 4545 and ASTM E 384 in the test-load range from HV0.01 to HV2. For more sophisticated or for automated applications, PC controlled versions are available as semi automatic systems based on Diamond Software or fully automatic systems based on the High Definition Software (HD).

Advantages of Diamond Hardness Testing Software

  • Operational control of the hardness tester is handled by Diamond hardness testing software:
  • The intuitive and workflow-based test procedure is adapted to the ZwickRoell testing software. Operators can move seamlessly from one testing machine to another - thus training is reduced to a minimum.
  • Diamond features a deep learning algorithm which mimics human behavior. It is especially suited for samples whose surface is not ideally suited to automatic indentation measurement. This improves the reproducibility of measurements between operators and sample preparation time is minimized.
  • All data associated with the test is stored automatically, for example, the test method, hardness value, tolerances, and an image of the indentation with measuring lines. This allows the operator to reassess an automatic measurement even after the test has been completed and the sample removed from the hardness tester.

Operation with ZHµ.HD Software and Scanner

The specimen holders are highly effective when used with Indentec's automatic Vickers testing system. The automatic system comprises a hardness tester, a PC, ZHμ.HD software and a flatbed scanner with positioning device and mount. The drawer in which the specimen is secured is inserted into the device on the scanner and a scanned image transmitted to the ZHµ.HD software. The drawer is then inserted into the base previously positioned on the X-Y table. Testing can then proceed.

ZwickRoell Indentec Introduces New Diamond Hardness Software

ZwickRoell Indentec released a new generation of software for hardness testing, Diamond. The premier feature of Diamond software is a deep learning algorithm which mimics human behavior. This feature is beneficial for samples with surfaces not suited to automatic indentation measurement, for example low-contrast surfaces.
