In this version the spring element is a bending ring with a spiral strain-gage applied to its entire surface top and bottom.
The bending ring is connected to the hub and outer ring via circumferential elastic joints. When forces are transmitted to the load cell the bending ring deforms and its upper circumference increases whilst the lower circumference decreases, or vice versa. This deformation is recorded by spiral strain gages developed specifically for this load cell.
As the strain gages act uniformly over the entire surface of the bending ring, the load cell has no preferred direction.
