We firmly grip all screws

Form-fit force transmission via shouldered, screw or threaded heads. The specimen, along with its corresponding holder, is inserted into the grips, which are freely accessible from the front, and is automatically centered in the tensile axis.

  • Specimen grips are available with Fmax 50 kN, 250 kN, 600 kN and 1200 kN.
  • Specimen holder anti-backlash option ensures that the specimen is held securely, minimizing holder recoil at specimen break.
  • Low overall height saves space in the test area.
  • Due to the form-fit design, these specimens do not require ancillary units.
  • Strain rate control in accordance with standards DIN EN ISO 6892-1:2009 and ASTM E8 – 09.

  • Absolute symmetrical force distribution is ensured through various design details.

    • Anti-backlash option for specimen holders: Play-free specimen location enables precise alignment in the tensile axis — essential for use with optical extension measurement systems.
    • Symmetrical bearing surfaces in the specimen grips: The specimen holders bear on two symmetrical contact surfaces in the specimen grips.
    • Specimen fully enclosed by all specimen holders: All specimen holders completely surround the specimen. A support sleeve is placed around the split holders for dumbbell specimens.
  • This also prevents them from spreading, minimizing holder recoil at specimen break.
  • Low overall height saves space in the test area.
  • Pure Mechanical solution: Pneumatic control unit and hydraulic power pack are not required.

    • Screws with a plane head support (e.g., to EN ISO 4762, ISO 4017, DIN 6912) and to DIN EN ISO 898-1 (straight tensile test)
    • Button-head specimens to DIN 50125, Shape C
    • Button-head specimens to GOST 1497

    • Screws with a plane head support (e.g., to EN ISO 4762, EN 24017, DIN 6912) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 898-1 (straight tensile test)
    • Screws to DIN EN ISO 898-1 DIN EN ISO 898-1 (wedge tensile test)
    • Dumbbell specimens to DIN 50125, shape C
    • Dumbbell specimens to GOST 1497

  • Various design details ensure that force distribution is absolutely symmetrical:

    • symmetrical contact surfaces in the specimen grips: the specimen holders bear on two symmetrical contact surfaces in the specimen grips;
    • holders enclose specimen: all specimen holders completely enclose the specimen; a support sleeve is located around the split dumbbell-specimen holders, additionally preventing them from spreading.
  • Specimen-holder recoil at specimen break absorbed by dampers.
  • Purely mechanical solution: no pneumatic control unit or hydraulic power pack required.
  • Specimen holders for the 250kN grips can also be used in the 600kN grips.
  • Adapter plates for attaching additional test fixtures to the grips can be supplied.

Application, Fmax 1200 kN

These specimen grips are designed for tests on button-head and threaded-end specimens and for testing nuts and bolts/screws.

Specimen holders are currently available for the following specimens and standards:

  • threads as per DIN 50125 Type B and ISO 6892-1
  • screws/bolts/studs as per ISO 898-1 (straight tensile test and oblique tensile test)
  • dumbbell specimens as per DIN 50125, Type C
  • nuts as per ISO 898-2.

Specimen holders for additional standards (e.g. ASTM E8) are available on application.
