  • Hyperloop competition by Elon Musk – Winning team's wheels tested with ZwickRoell

    The Hyperloop is a mobility concept proposed by Tesla founder Elon Musk, in which high-speed trains would travel at nearly the speed of sound at approximately 1,100 km/h, through tubes with extremely low air pressure. By using battery electric powered transport capsules known as pods, traveling from Munich to Berlin could take only 30 minutes in the future.

    Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is the largest mechanical engineering and construction company in India. The company employs 45,000 people in its production facilities and offices.   • Testing additive manufactured structures for the aerospace industry at -269°C

    Additive manufacturing methods such as laser melting afford a great amount of design freedom and therefore offer huge potential for weight minimization. Due to the small quantities typical in aerospace this type of manufacturing method can also be implemented cost-effectively. KRP Mechatec relies on a testing machine from ZwickRoell for testing additive manufactured aluminum and titanium structures at low temperatures down to -269°C .
