The task

Standards-compliant testing of ski safety

For safe use, skis must meet defined requirements in terms of strength, flexural rigidity, and screw retention. The tests are based on recognized international standards, including ISO 8364:2017 and ISO 6265:2013, in order to evaluate safety-relevant properties in a comparable and reproducible manner. Reliable testing is necessary, especially for new materials and designs, to ensure compliance with relevant standards. The aim was to establish reproducible test methods for screw pull-out tests, bending tests, and fracture tests. The tests were designed in such a way that different load scenarios can be realistically represented and reproducible results can be achieved.
