Deevin Seismic Uses Testing Machine with Side Test Area for Geotextile, Rubber & Plastic Test Applications

Deevin Seismic Systems Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of Dilip Buildcon Ltd, has a high-tech manufacturing unit in Mandideep, Madhya Pradesh, India, with state-of-the-art machines, laboratory equipment, and R&D facilities. They have an  emphasis on producing high-quality Bridge Bearings, Expansion Joints, Pre- & Post-Tensioning Anchorages, and Reinforced Earth GEO Products for captive as well as market requirements.

ZwickRoell has supplied a 250 kN universal testing machine to Deevin Seismic Systems. The machine has two test areas with the possibility to use a third test area in future.

With fully equipped two test areas, maximum test applications can be covered while occupying minimum space, along with an ergonomic operating height. The setup avoids the need for frequent changes of tools resulting in saving of time and effort, resulting in cost savings. The testing machine is ideally suited for production-related tests as well as R&D activities.

"The equipment plays a crucial role in our product development & cost optimization solutions; with ZwickRoell 250 KN UTM, we can provide customized & tailor-made solutions as per customer needs."

The main test area is used for tensile tests on geostrap materials according to ASTM D4595 & ISO 10319 upto 250 kN capacity.

The side test area can be used up to 50 kN test load for the following tests:

  • Tensile test on rubber according to ISO 37 & ASTM D412
  • CBR Puncture test as per ASTM D6241 & ISO 12236
  • Grab Test as per ASTM D4632
  • Trapezoidal tear test as per ASTM D4533
  • Tensile test on PTFE plastic specimen as per ASTM D638
  • Tensile test of Polyester yarns as per ASTM D2256

The machine has a test area height of 1588 mm to cover the needs of high elongating materials like geostraps, geotextiles, plastics, yarn & rubber testing.

A non-contact extensometer, lightXtens, is provided with the machine for strain measurement upto 1000 mm with a resolution of 1.5 µm for geostrap and rubber materials.
