Intensive quality testing for luggage: Focus on safety and durability
Safety and quality are top priorities in product testing. To ensure that these products can withstand the rigors of everyday use, they are subjected to various tests. A particularly illustrative example is the quality testing of luggage, such as suitcases, bags, and backpacks. These products must withstand extreme loads, especially when stacked, as is often the case on luggage carts at airports. A suitcase must be able to withstand up to 200 kg (approximately 2000 kN) to ensure that it can withstand the stresses of transport.
Until now, realistically simulating such high loads was impossible at Hohenstein with conventional testing machines. The new Z020 AllroundLine testing machine now enables targeted and realistic tests that meet customer requirements. In addition, the machine allows further tests to be conducted, for example on products that are exposed to high forces in the home, garden, or leisure sector. The tests simulate real-life load scenarios, such as stacking several suitcases on a luggage cart, and ensure that the products function reliably even under extreme conditions.
