As a leading international company, ZwickRoell also has a worldwide service network entailing service locations and accredited laboratories.

Our calibration laboratory in Germany is accredited by the German accreditation body DAkkS. Through our DAkkS multi-location accreditation, our calibration laboratories at our locations in Spain, Italy, and Singapore are included.

Furthermore, ZwickRoell also operates laboratories in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. In addition to our DAkkS accreditation, we are also accredited by A2LA, COFRAC, UKAS, NABL, PCA, PJLA, INMETRO and TÜRKAK.

Through mutual recognition of national accreditation bodies under the ILAC agreement, we ensure worldwide validity of your calibration certificate and test results.

ZwickRoell is accredited by DakkS to perform calibrations and thus is permitted to issue DAkkS calibration certificates as the highest form of documentation. Working with standardized processes we calibrate more than 12,000 materials testing machines and instruments per year, providing us with sound expertise and experience. This makes ZwickRoell the largest calibration laboratory for materials testing machines and instruments in Germany. 

We are experts in many calibration methods, covering numerous standards. Our comprehensive calibration portfolio for materials testing machines and instruments enables us to calibrate a wide variety of measurands, so that we have the right solutions readily available for your machines and requirements.

Reliable test results—we calibrate more accurately than the standard requires

The range for calibration depends on the type of load cell on the materials testing machine, the machine electronics, and the display resolution. For ZwickRoell materials testing machines with HP (high precision) series load cells, the range is starts at 0.1/0.2% of nominal force; for other types of load cells the range starts at 0.4%. In this way we cover the full measurement range and ensure maximum result accuracy. The standards require a calibration range of 20–100% of the nominal load and five calibration stages. A ZwickRoell calibration certificate consists of 11 calibration stages.

Preventative inspections save you money in the long term

As part of our calibration service, we offer inspections carried out using checklists to reduce the risk of malfunctions or machine downtime and guarantee productivity. This means you save money on repair costs and spare parts in the long term. During these inspections, which only we as manufacturers can perform, our service technicians inspect your testing machines and are able to carry out minor repairs and adjustments on the spot. This inspection is especially important, since the normative directives DIN EN ISO 7500-1 specify the need for inspection prior to calibration.

ZwickRoell Service is reliable and competent

Each individual service technician is has outstanding skills and is regularly trained, as proven during each and every on-site visit. Service technicians carry personally assigned calibration equipment with customized adapters and the necessary reference sensors. To maintain DAkkS accreditations, reference sensors are recalibrated at prescribed intervals.

Measurement System Analysis (MSA)

As part of inspection and calibration of your materials testing machines and instruments, we also perform an additional measurement system analysis (MSA).

This serves as proof of suitability of the testing process in compliance with industry-specific standards that are highly relevant in the automotive (ISO/TS16949, IATF 16949), medical, and pharmaceutical industries. For destructive materials testing, Method 1 according to the Q-DAS guideline is used. This method checks for the accuracy and repeatability of a testing system's test results. A measured value is approached 50 times with a working standard (master) thus achieving an average value and standard deviation, so that together with a set value and a tolerance limit, a capability index of Cg and Cgk can be calculated. At a minimum this must reach a value of 1.33 to confirm the measuring instrument capability.
