Standards for Metals Testing
In most cases, metals are tested according to a specific standard. Standards define properties and procedures including specimen geometries, the test process, as well as the test equipment and test settings. Various national and international organizations are responsible for creating and maintaining the standards.

The standard stipulates the general requirements for test methods used to determine characteristics. ZwickRoell materials testing machines are equipped to fulfill these requirements and to meet customer specifications. To fulfill these requirements, the testing software uses test programs that specify the test procedure and important presets or request required variable parameter values from the operator.
